For your protection, your DFCU Mastercard debit and credit cards are protected by enhanced chip technology, keeping you protected even when traveling.
With the new enhanced technology, we're alerted if your card is being used outside of your usual location, or if there is spending that doesn't quite match up with your usual activity. Because of these alerts, your card(s) could be declined or suspended until we can verify the transactions. To avoid any suspension or declines while using your card when traveling, there are a few things you should do:
If you're traveling in the United States, call us directly at 800.336.2700. Also keep in mind:
- Verify your correct phone/cell contact number with us so, if needed, we may quickly connect with you for security alerts, or any transactions that may seem suspicious.
- Download the DFCU mobile app and check your balances often. Reviewing your transaction history will ensure your transactions aren't suspicious or fraudulent.
- Record the last four digits of your card number and have it ready when talking to our service reps.
- Travel assistance benefits from Mastercard are available when you're traveling 50 miles or more from home.*
